The bus ride is long and he’s tired; he wants to sleep but he
can’t. He wants to curl in on himself and shut his eyes and forget
the game but he can’t. He wants to pull out pictures of his family
and think about them and forget about the game but he can’t. He
wants to relax but he can’t because he’s cold and tired and he
can’t sleep.
He feels a jacket fall over him. Raul grins before laying a palm
against his cheek.
“Get some sleep, you look horrible.”
He grins back and kisses the hand.
“Thanks.”

The blond gives him a bemused look. “We’re not old.”
He smiles at him. “I didn’t say that.”
Guti leans against the wall. “We’re seasoned.”
He grins. “Like meat.”
Guti laughs. “Tough steak.”
He laughs. “And you haven’t tired of chewing me yet?”
Guti grins, draws closer. “I have sharp teeth.”
“Yes you do.”

Robinho sitting against the wall.
The Brazilian looks at him and grins. “Be careful.”
Fernando is confused. “What?”
Robinho gestures with his head. “Sergio’s face is near your foot.”
Fernando nods. “Right, thanks.”
Robinho grins. “I’m not concerned for his well-being. Just
don’t ruin my surprise.”
Fernando glances down and sees a glass of ice water precariously
positioned on the Spaniard’s chest near his neck. He grins and gets
up slowly, crawls over to sit beside the Brazilian.
“I think I’ll watch from here.”
Robinho nods. “Out of harm’s way.”

it up, glances at the display. It’s the other Fernando.
Without hesitation he cancels the call, deletes it from the history
in Sergio’s phone. Maybe it’s a little much, maybe it’s a
little possessive, but he’s tired of this. That Fernando is gone.
Sergio returns just as Fernando is laying his phone back on the
table. “Was that my phone?”
Fernando shakes his head. “No, I think you’re hearing things.”
Sergio frowns. “I was expecting a call.”
Fernando nods. “He must have forgotten.”
Sergio sighs and frowns. “Probably.”
