His heart was beating so loudly, he could almost hear it. The home crowd was roaring; deafening, desperate. Coach yelled his name, waving his arms and barking orders. He nodded, annoyed and on edge.
Then all it took was one look; a teammate knowing exactly where the open space was. The perfect pass, the perfect assist, and he brushed the ball past the panicking goalkeeper, then fell onto the grass as the stadium exploded and hope had returned.
