David had taken some notes during the first part of the briefing, but found it hard to stay focussed. The pen in his hand seemed to be leading a life of its own, stroking the paper rapidly as the little drawing took form.
The canvas was white, where it should have been a golden tan shoulder; skin damp with sweat. He remembered that skin being soft as velvet under his fingertips, when he'd trace the lines of Sergio's tattoos.
David smiled, then carefully tore the drawing from his notebook and placed it in his wallet, unable to throw it away.
