One of Kat's long updates..
...this could take a while! Last time I updated was more than four weeks ago and I'm sure many interesting things have happened in my life since then..maybe. Oh this is for Katie who complained that I needed to update. So blame her.
Besides, eating isn't procrastinatory enough considering I always feel I should be working while eating - did you know that you could freeze Frubes to make ice lollies incidentally?! So the computer seems like a much better plan for the whole avoiding work thing..
So exams are a week on Monday. So aiming for 6-8 hours work daily. Although that's blatantly not happening today, having taken an extended lunch break after going shopping til midday...
Anyway - this amount of work is about 10 hours LESS than Ben Mullish, a third yr medic, who is spending sixteen hours a day working. Not that Cambridge ever scares me...and then there's Dave, who has an exam in two days and still goes down to the bar to play pool. Silly boy.
Hmmm so term. What's happened? Got drunk at a few Queens' bops, surprise surprise. Seen Dave lots, seen Lisa even more, hung out with Imo and got fed wine, eaten (thankfully) surprisingly few times in the Buttery - food is getting better, apart from the veggies which not resemble orange/green unidentifiable chunks...it's not good.
Shared a bottle of wine when Lisa came back on the first day, got vaguely drunk...talked a lot about the respective bfs as usual (as long as they don't hear what we talk about, everything will be fine...)
Oh about 2 weeks ago, went to a Newnham formal with Imo and Stasia for Imo's birthday..that was interesting. Went in to find somewhere to sit and saw the guys who had been on my blind date (who invited us to the Emma house party who wasn't very happy when I turned up with Dave, it being our second date and proceeded to be "random pulling couple" on the stairs all night). Anyway, we had a good time in formal, getting rather drunk, as Imo left me to consume my entire bottle of wine. The conversation was funny, and we all had a pretty cool time. Then we went to the bar and onto Cindie's - this was when I found out that Imo fancied Andy, the guy sitting next to me - and Jonathan, who invited us to the house party the first time, obviously still fancied me, even if he was completely hammered. Ok so I didn't really push him away or anything, although he knew I was still seeing Dave (who was coming along to Cindie's later anyway...). So Jon tries it on in the club, buys me lots of vodka (who's complaining?!). And then I kiss him for like 2 seconds literally, realise how wrong it is, back away and run to find Dave who turns up a bit later, crying and telling him how much I loved him - coz I do :):).
So to cut a long story short, Jon (who's a PhD student) told me that we couldn't be friends coz I'm a first year; Dave told the bouncer that Jon was drunk, tried to start a fight and hit on his gf - and got Jon properly chucked out of Cindies - and Dave and I are fine, we made up the next day :)
Oh and then it turned out that Jon actually had a girlfriend after all of that. What an arsehole!!
Apart from that, still in love with Dave; still procrastinating obviously; eating more - scared of exams - and very much looking forward to May Week! And I'm determined to get all the medics completely wasted - it's not going to be just me for a change!! Oh saw Kate for her bday which was really nice. Got burnt working outside in the first and only sunny day I've seen so far and am now peeling...
