This is part of a conversation I had with my girlfriend's mother while eating lunch at my place while waiting for the girl to get ready. Not exact words, but pretty damn close as it's not something I'd forget in a hurry.
Her: Good noodles?
Me: Yeah, they're alright.
Her: What flavour?
Me: Prawn.
Her: ...prawn noodles? Eww!
Me: You don't like prawns?
Her: Oh no I do, I just... noodles. *makes the yuck face* What do they taste like?
Me: Sort of fish-chicken-y. But more chicken than fish.
Her: Oh ok... false advertising! *laughs*
Me: *laughs* Yeah, but they smell more like... *comes to a scary/crude realisation* fish.
Her: So they taste like chicken and smell like fish? You don't like fish though, right?
Me: *pauses for a moment* Yeah... I'm not that into fish.
Her: So you don't like the smell?
Me: I.. err.. no...
If you don't get it, don't ask. And I know it's just my mind being crude (I can't help it, you'd understand if you know what - who - I live with), but I got this vibe off of her, like she was screwing with me. It's hard to tell with her, she doesn't seem the type but sometimes I have to wonder... However, if it were my own mother clearly there wouldn't be a question.
