"Story: Ground Zero

Warnings: Blood (a lot of it) and despair and a bit of confusion at the end; later in the story there’s potential for attempted suicide and suicide-by-proxy.
Summary: This gen fic follows Sam as he enters the convent to kill Lilith, and goes AU right after her death - Sam is surrounded by the circle of blood and used as the gateway through which Lucifer enters the world. He is not put on that plane and he is not cleaned up, but is there at ground zero. Ruby escapes; Sam is altered by the events and keeps his powers without going through withdrawal. Potentially the story will go on through all the events of season five with a Sam who has not been depowered but feels just as guilty as in canon, and a Dean who has to figure out if his brother is human enough in his eyes to let live, but so far it’s only written until right after Lucifer rose and is barely more than 5k words."
