What a tremendously written and executed fic! I love the idea of Sam being split into four parts - I don't think I've read a fic that has explored this in this curtain fic format, and it's such a refreshing and insightful premise.
I loved how each Sam had a different name and personally trait, and I loved how initially Dean was close to the ones that represented more of the Sam he wanted to remember, but how by the end he realised that really, all of them were Sam, just in different ways, and they weren't limited to those personality traits, but held more of the brother he used to know than he thought.
You captured Dean so well; confused, hurt and grieving for the brother he used to have, but still to trying to move forward. The end was just perfect, still poignant and quiet, but with a glimmer of hope and happiness. There's no way you're not getting a dog Dean - I mean can you imagine four sets of pleading puppy eyes?!
Thank you for sharing this bittersweet but beautiful fic, I loved every word. Take care :)
What an amazing fic! The four Sams are fascinating, and I love how Dean assumed (just as I did as the reader) that they were perfectly split between these aspects, rather than a bit of bleed between them. Great read.
Awesome portrait(s) of life, it was really interesting seeing each of them round out into a bit more of a real person, as it were, and Dean's journey to acceptance. Thanks for writing! ♥
