I found this multi-coloured yarn on sale, and thought I'd buy a couple of skeins for a small project. Now that my aches and pains are back to a more normal level, following the intensive bouts of acupuncture I went through in September, I am tentatively doing a bit of knitting - tis the season after all.
I'm working on a tiny sweater with raglan sleeves. It's a size 3-6 months - I got the measurements from a basic knitting book I have in the house, and made up my own pattern for it (this is my usual modus operandi when knitting). I decided to use a lightly ribbed knit, so as to make the sweater fit better - there's quite a bit of size difference between a 3 month old and a 6 month old child. So far I'm 2/3 done with the back - here's what it looks like:

At this point you can get a pretty good idea of what the knit will look like on the finished sweater, and I'm debating which side I should let face outwards. What do you think? The smooth front is very sleek and nice, but the back has a pretty interesting texture I think.
I don't normally buy yarn of such eclectic colouring, so I just hope at least one of the expecting mothers I know will be happy to see their wee kid in something like this - else I'll just have to convince someone who likes it to make a kid to fit! ;P
