You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-word answers seldom help anyone out.

1. First Name: Emma

2. Age: 22

3. Location: Canberra, Australia.  Actually the nation's capital, completely unheard-of by anyone outside the country, and the only place in Australia where pornography and fireworks are legal, leading to some really interesting clandestine interstate trading.

4. Occupation: Uni student - I am studying communication creative writing.  I also work part time in a poultry shop.

5. Partner?: Ha.

6. Kids: None of my own, though there are many children in my life, and I adore with a kind of misty-eyed cluckiness that often shocks people who only know meas a sarcastic bitch.

7. Brothers/Sisters: Two brothers, two sisters.  My older brother is married, but lives quite close, and we all get along, to a greater or lesser extent, though some days I would dearly love to strangle both my sisters.

8. Pets: Not anymore.

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:

Uni tends to dominate the horizon, so it's fortunate that I really enjoy it.

My acne is one of the things I blog most about - it's beginning to clear up nicely, so watch this space for bitching about the scarring it's left.

World Youth Day in Sydney next month.  At some point I will get around to amking that post about my religious beliefs vs my rather liberal worldview.  Not today, though.

10. Where and for what did you go to school for? Private Coatholic schools all the way through, and now at a local university with a really good writing program.  I'm hoping - obviously to get published myself, but failing that, to work in the publishing industry.

11. Parents: Mum is a nurse, specialising in the drug and alcohol sector, and she's funny and wonderful and a bit of a drunken hussy.  Dad is a very proper British gentleman with a stiff upper lip who spends an unhealthy amount of time in cemeteries.  He's also a very prominient securtiy specialist.  They're celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary next month.

12. Who are some of your closest friends?:

People I talk about most on my blog:

Emily: A friend from highschool who is my absolutest darling.  We wandered into fandom together  - Lord of the Rings, way back in the day.  She's mostly in comic book and gaming fandom these days, but it's still one of the things we connect on, and she's one of my few rl friend who I can talk to about fandom.  She's a joy to watch movies with, because she knows all about my slash goggles. :D.  Her boyfriend is Chris, who is sweet, and adorable, and also a furry.  Whatev.

Michael: Though source of much angst and frustration.  Met in 2004, in Sydney.  Spent a year corresponding very comfortably by email, then he moved to Canberra to enter the seminary.  All very comfortable.  Then he left the seminary, stayed in Canberra, and things are... less comfortable.  He found this blog last year and was disturbed and a little judgemental.  Things are rather awkward, but i don't really want to lose his friendship.

Gaby: Good friend since we were young, though we don't see as much of each other as I would like.  She has only recently come back from a couple of years in Melbourne and Adelaide, and is planning to move back to Adelaide to study art.  She is my adorable girl, and I love her madly, and I am going to MISS HER.  I'm going to call her right now, actually.
