Interesting plot twist at the heart of it! I was too absorbed in reading to stop and think much about what had actually happened. I thought of a stolen camera or a mishap at a photo printing shop, but didn't think about the phone being stolen too!
I keep coming back to this review and grinning like a madman. I want to print it out and keep it under my pillow and cuddle it.
I want to say something sensible about all the lovely things you've said about this silly thing I wrote, I keep blushing every time I read it, so I'll just say thank you so much, you totally made my day.
(Also I, much like Tommy, can never remember the name of the lead singer from MCR.)
I'm a big fan of your SPN fic (I reread the Care and Feeding 'verse probably every three months and it never fails to make me smile) and I got SO EXCITED when you started writing in Glam fandom. I'm sort of distracted by other fandoms at the moment (bandom and Inception, woe) so the only LBB stories I've read so far are ones I helped beta, but as soon as I saw this pop up on my flist I was like \o/
You write people being sweet to each other so well. I mean, you proved here that you can bring the angst like a pro if you need to, but I think that is my favorite thing about the way you write -- you capture kindness and enjoyment and love between friends and lovers in a really wonderful way that's so easy to read. ♥
I swear I was planning to leave a coherent review, but this ^ pretty much says everything I wanted to say (with the exception of Gerard Way because I'm not an MCR fan).
There is something about the glitz and glamour and made-up smiles and behind-the-scenes pain of Hollywood that really, really appeals to me, and if Adam's photos on the theme of celebrity and people's reaction to it had been published IRL with an accompanying essay, I'd have loved it to bits. Anyway, yeah, your summary and the whole Hollywood!AU thing were already points in this fic's favour, and then I read it and it was effing AMAZING.
And I could feel Tommy's pain and confusion and it was heartbreaking, even if some small part of me could guess what was coming; still, I broke into a HUGE grin when Sutan said Adam's bag was stolen. (Also, SO MUCH LOVE for Sutan/Raja. Wish I had a friend like that!) And the endng was just perfect. This has got to be one of my all-time favourite Adam/Tommy fics ever. ♥
