WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK
IF THIS IS TRUE I AM NEVER WATCHING TORCHWOOD AGAIN TELL ME IT'S NOT TRUE THAT KISS WAS SIGNIFICANT RIGHT HE'S NOT REALLY DEAD JACK PULLED SOME MOJO AND HE'S GOING TO BE FINE HE'S JUST PINING FOR THE FJORDS I SWEAR.

Okay. Okay. Now I have that out of my system - this is the best Torchwood has ever been. I mean it. I love Torchwood, but this miniseries is epic and creepy and heartrending. The scenes of the PM and his people very calmly talking themselves from 'no way' into the bald, awful logistics of offering up millions of kids for some unknown, alien purpose - horrifying. Chilling.
I even want to punch Gwen less than I usually do, in large part because she's not being dull and moralising, and the way she is with Clem. Oh, Clem. I love that we're seeing more of their families - Jack's daughter and Ianto's sister are both fabulous and amazing for completely different reasons and I really hope we see more of them.
Jack - oh, Jack. I mean, everybody knows he's done some fucked up things in his time. Immortality, I think, would tend to give you a somewhat skewed vision of human life. I think Jack in 1965 was a different Jack, without his team, without the connectedness plugging him back into the human side of things - it's easy to see how he could reduce a few little lives to a risk/benefit analysis. It's a shitty thing to do, but I'm not shocked he's wandered into morally-grey territory, because he's always been capable of it.
And my baby Ianto. Oh, honey. You'll be okay.
Also, I had a violently negative reaction to the nasty chick who put the bomb in Jack, but fuck me, do I love competent, badass ladies. I started thawing out on her when she was talking to Alice - genuinely puzzled as to why she should have more compassion for a kid than an adult, but completely honest in her reactions to Alice. I liked that she took Alice's threat seriously, despite Alice being surrouned, outnumbered, and unarmed.
And I cannot wait to find out what the Four Five Six are doing with the kids. Goddamn.
