78. [Video/Action for Ecruteak Inn]

[It's a fairly common occurrence for Godzilla the Totodile to hijack Heather's 'Gear-- he's sort of had an affinity for filming ever since he first hatched, after all. But apart from his one little act of philanthropy a few weeks back, he's actually been surprisingly absent for the most part, at least in the sense that he hasn't been filming with ( Read more... )

[Oh. Oh dear. For this, Amaranth's kidnapped the gear to the roof of the Violet Inn, where it's fairly quiet and away from people.}

Do what you can to help your trainer and protect them, is what I'd say.

What trouble have you been having?

I've been trying, but she still seems mad!

[Of course, what he doesn't entirely realize is that even though he HAS been in the doghouse somewhat ever since he'd crossed the line with his bratty behavior a few months back, Heather's had countless OTHER things to be upset about.]

[... But he's still right to be concerned about his own actions, because... well, yeah. He HAS been a rotten little thing.]

[She looks thoughtful at that.]

Hmm. Has she said what she's upset about?

...No..

But... I want to make her feel better, and if I was a good Pokemon...

There could be other things - if she's been clearly upset at something you did, then that's something to not do; beyond that it's a little more difficult - but if she's upset and you're not sure why, then trying to be there for her to comfort her might help. It might not always be something you can do anything about, but sometimes, they need someone there who cares.

[He heaves a little sigh. This is going around in circles.]

I try, but she usually tells me to leave her alone...

[This was a bit more complicated - at least the worst she had to worry about with Jack was needing a kiddie-leash to keep him from getting taken in.]

That ... isn't your fault - sometimes people get upset at one thing, and it turns into being upset at everything around them, or for some reason they have a hard time accepting that others care about them. Try giving her a little space and being patient, or if there's someone she does trust who does seem to be able to talk to her when she's like them, go get them to help. If it's not at you, then try to remember that in those cases it's not that you're a bad Pokémon, she's just upset and might not be thinking.

[This is probably some of the best advice he's gotten so far tonight. He fidgets a little, mulling it over.]

... I guess I'll try...

[She smiles gently.]

It'll be alright - I'm sure she cares about you, even when she's upset.

[Sob, if only she was as beguilingly convincing as the Glameow that Zilla's traveling with who just told him that if he doesn't try harder to make Heather love him, she'll get rid of him.]

Yeah... thanks for the advice...
