70. [DREAM/DREAM/DREAM/DREAM]

[So while the rest of Johto alternately panics, cries, or rushes around trying to capture as many of the soulstealing insects as possible, there are dozens of souls floating around in that dream limbo, drifting in and out of each other's slumbering thoughts and visions. Whether it's nightmarish flashbacks or just those dreams where you're at school ( Read more... )

[After all horrific things Larry has seen throughout his time in the nightmare world, this door is definitely somewhere near the top of the list. That cryptic message doesn't really help.

Everything about this door throws up red flags. There is no way Larry would want to go through it. Especially since he was alone. At least if someone was with him the thought of going through that door wouldn't be as terrifying.

And yet...he feels like he's been pulled in. Like there's something he needs to do beyond that door. He knows he's going to seriously regret it, but he steps inside anyway. He's going to be shaking like a leaf the entire way.]

[Larry's instincts are right. But... well, where else is he gonna go?]

[On the other side of the door is a lobby. Or a waiting room? ... Both, apparently... right down the chairs, potted plant in the corner, and old magazines lying around. ... Except it all looks like it's been there for a really, really long time. The plant is withered and crackly-looking...]

[At least there's some lights on, though! ... Dim lights, but lights!]

[They glint off of something that's sitting up on the front desk-- looks like one of those little service bells you whack to let someone know you're there!]

[Larry gulps nervously and looks around at his surroundings. This is starting to look like one of those horror video games from back home. Why couldn't he get provided with a flashlight or something?

Warily creeping his way around the lobby, he examines the magazines and the dates on them. Damn, those are old. Like, really old. Turning around, he catches sight of the bell. Naturally, he goes to check it out.

Weird...it looks like one of the only things in this place that isn't old and decrepit. He glances around once more before moving for the bell. He stares it for a moment, deciding if he should ring it. What have all the horror flicks and games taught him about trying to find help in a place like this? And about being drawn toward things that are very out of place?

Go for it, obviously. So he taps the bell a few times, sending ringing echoing through the dark halls beyond the room.]

[You're pretty on-the-dot there, Larry.]

[... But maybe you should think your know-how through a little more carefully.]

[The bell's note is clear and high, cutting through the silence like a particularly dainty knife. ... But then, silence. For a moment or two, it sounds like there might be something shifting upstairs-- even something that could be footsteps ... but then, nothing. What did the bell do? ... Maybe there really wasn't anyone here.]

[In any case... it doesn't look like there's anything particularly useful around... and hospitals (if that's what this is) are pretty spooky when they're abandoned... perhaps he'll have better luck outside. There's a set of lobby doors nearby...]

[Larry stumbles away from the bell after ringing it, looking around nervously as it echoes throughout the old building. The footsteps definitely make him uneasy, especially when they stop.]

Uh... H-h-hello? Is anybody here?

[His voice is a little raspy, and fear is obvious in his tone. He waits for a response for a good minute, but nothing comes from it. If someone was going to come check on the noise, why did everything suddenly go quiet? Did he just put a target over himself, letting whatever dangerous being who happened to be in there area know where he was?

Who knows? And he sure as hell isn't about to go exploring the place without a flashlight. This little lobby is obviously the only decently-lit place in the building, just by looking down the pitch black halls. It's like they're just inviting him to wander in to his untimely demise.

So he looks around for an exit. Ah, there are the doors! He wanders over to them and gives them a good tug.]

[For once? The locks are not broken! If Larry'd had prior experiences in this place, he might appreciate that a little more... but as it is, it's probably just a huge relief to get out of that creepy lobby.]

[The doors open to the outside-- the blessed outside!]

[He'll be finding himself on a road lined with dark buildings... It's cold and foggy... the sky dark and gray even though it's before sundown... but all the same, the fresh air tastes better than the stale stuff inside that building.]

[Success! Immediately after taking his first few steps outside, Larry takes in a deep breath of fresh air...only to cough afterwords. The cold air was a bit of a shock to his system.

He then surveys the surroundings. Well, this place is still pretty creepy, but not as creepy as the inside of that building he was just in. He's not sure where to go next, but he may as well start walking somewhere. So he does just that, hoping to find any sign of life in this seemingly deserted town.]

[Definitely creepy... but at least there's open space.]

[The road leads him down between dark-windowed buildings, and eventually a narrow alley... lifeless as the place he just left, but there's ONE thing that looks promising-- a rickety metal staircase at the end of the alley, rising straight up to a doorway on the second floor of a building. Although the windows appear dim, the neon sign outside the door is lit up and buzzing in appealing shades of yellow, pink and red. The words Heaven's Night are spelled out in loopy cursive, with a heart and a star making up the apostrophe and 'i', respectively.]

[Dude.]

[Larry smirks as he comes across that building. A club in the middle of a creepy old place like this? Score! Also weird, but a score is a score.

Ascending the the stairs, he stares into the windows for a moment, but he can't see all too much going on. Regardless, he wants to give the place a chance. Maybe there's someone inside that can give him some pointers on a way out of here...and maybe they can give him some entertainment too.

So he takes a deep breath and turns the door handle to head inside.]

[[OOC: Sorry for the lateness Kit. @_@]]

[The interior of the building is dark and moody-- unsurprising for the nature of the kind of place that it is.]

[Slow jazz, heavy on the saxophone, filters over from a scratchy record player somewhere in a corner.]

[Larry wanders around the building, looking for any sign of life. When he finds none, he sighs heavily. What a cop out.

Might as well do what all other horror movie characters do: call out to see if anyone can magically hear him.]

Yo! Anybody here? C'mon, somebody had to turn on that generic music!

[You just go right ahead and call out, Larry, because you're about to get very lucky!]

[On the far end of the darkened room, a door opens, and in stroll-- well, it' sort of hard to see in the dim light, but they're very obviously female-- VERY obviously.]

[They do not, however, appear to have heard Larry-- at least not before they opened the door and came in.]
