[... What? Heather? In the Pokemon Center? Again? SURELY YOU JEST. She didn't get her ass kicked by a crazy robber again or anything, did she

[because hello Heather, he kind of works here. :D]
[Edgeworth has already heard about Heather's injuries. Not the gory details or the sobfest that went with it (obviously), but he was rather aware of how Phoenix had used up a lot of the first aid and kept going downstairs to visit the girl in the past few days. He's also noticed how quiet she's been, almost completely missing in action.]
[Today... this week, actually, Edgeworth's job has been to be threatened into wearing a Santa outfit with his baby Growlithe, handing out tiny bags of Pokémon food as a Christmas gift to anyone who visited -- and Heather's Totodile is no exception. He just lingers a bit when he hands the little blue thing the bag, pulling the tattered magazine away from him.]
[It's no surprise that he knows about what happened-- Heather honestly wouldn't have expected any less, given that the kid was sharing a room with Phoenix. But in case he had any doubts, here she was in all her lobster-handed glory.]
Hey, Edgeworth.
[She offers up a smile.]
They got you dressing up and stuff, huh?
[Godzilla, meanwhile, SENSES THE PRESENCE OF EDIBLE THINGS. Scrambling into a sitting position, he makes grabbyhands for the bag, mouth open wide. When it's handed to him, it just... immediately goes into his mouth.]
[Distractedly, Heather reaches out to tug it back out again.]
[After Phoenix came home that night looking the way he did - grim, quiet, and brooding about something - Edgeworth hadn't pried. As it was, both of them needed to keep some secrets to themselves. Edgeworth himself had things he couldn't tell Phoenix, anyway. All he knew was that she was somehow injured.. though how or to what extent, he didn't want to make Phoenix feel gloomier than he already was by asking.
But confirming that she was healthy, minus the tired look and her bandaged hands, he grimaces at her comment, shrugging his shoulders and tugging on the fuzzy red jacket.]
It wasn't a good idea to ask Nurse Joy about dressing up Pip -- she wouldn't let me go home until I agreed to do this.

Sounds pretty dumb to me... even if he does look pretty cute.
But jeez. I don't remember anything in the rules about dressing up as Santa.
