[It's a little before sun-up-- that weird hour of the morning where the sky is still dark but just starting to brighten in a thin, pale line at the horizon. Of course, where Heather was, that horizon was hidden by the trees, so it's... still mostly dark

But it is good to look on the bright side, Miss Mason. Your warrant will be over soon, correct?
Reply
Yeah. Tomorrow, actually.

[Those Jennies better remember him if he does speak to them. Get those cuffs off Miss Mason right now.]
Ah, and wonderful. It seems like you will no longer have to hide then.

[She says it lightheartedly, but the truth is, she's never had an adult-- apart from Harry and Douglas, anyway-- who was willing to stand up for her against police before. It's... kind of nice.]
And yeah, I'm kinda sick of hiding. I wanna get out of here and sleep in a bed again.
Reply
Yes, please find yourself an inn soon. I'm sure a hot shower and bed will make you feel a lot better.
[Totally speaks from experience. You have no idea how great he felt after a shower and a nap. He didn't wake up for hours.]

I'm not sure I'll be able to just yet... I kind of really wanna get to that Goldenrod place. I'm so sick of being stuck out in the boonies...
[But man, when she GOT there? She was gonna take the longest shower in the history of ever, and then she was going to pass out face-down under like twenty blankets and not move for sixteen hours.]

[Yes, fine. Y'know, like with the waiters and nice tablecloths and stuff. Nothing like your dang hamburger places.]
Ah, and yes, I have heard about this Goldenrod City. It seems like there is a large department store that sells a large variety of items there. I only hope that they carry a chessboard and rubix cube.

I lived in a city back home. Never was much of a country person.
I'm so sick of the wilderness I could puke. I can't wait to get to this place.

Yes, well, not everyone is well suited to the outdoors. I do not mind it, but I would rather stay inside with a nice cup of tea. Sipping tea with Pokemon constantly attacking you isn't something I can manage.
So, will you be making your way towards Goldenrod right now, Miss Mason?
Reply
Yeah, hate to admit it, but roughing it for long periods of time just isn't for me. I kind of like to have hot water at the end of the day.
Soon. Once the warrant expires, I'm gonna head out.

How long have you been here, Miss Mason? I assume much longer than me...
Wonderful. Please do tell me the good news once you arrive safely in Goldenrod. I cannot stop worrying about you just yet.

[She pauses a moment. It's been a little while since she's thought about exactly how long she's been here.]
... Guess it must be five months now... time flies, huh?
[She grins though and offers him a thumbs-up gesture.]
It's nice that you worry about me, but seriously. I can take on just about anything this world can throw at me.
[Except hallucinogenic fog, apparently.]
Reply
Yes, it does. It is hard to believe that I have been here for almost three months now. It seems like you will always be one step ahead of me, Miss Mason.
Haha, and I have utmost confidence that you can take care of yourself. I'm afraid it's just how I am, with two children to look after.
[Which includes Luke during their adventures and his adopted daughter, Flora. He has no children of his own, but man, he wishes. Just gotta spread the fatherly love around to everyone then.]

... Yeah. It ... well, no, I'd be lying if I said it felt like yesterday that I got here. [Because so much had changed since then.] But it still feels like it's all gone by so far.
How are they, by the way?
[She assumes he's talking about Luke and that girl who showed up on the network asking for him, of course.]
