What I've been up to

Life is life - things are generally pretty wonderful, but for the most part, I don't have anything crazy or new to write home about.

Let's see - I attended a baby shower for Libby last weekend...it was supercute, and her joy and loveliness was amazing and wonderful to see.

Last night was the last session of my salsa class for the semester.  It was fun!  I will probably take the more advanced class next spring.  I might also take a bellydancing class, because, why not?  I bet it'd be fun, too.  I got pretty chummy with the instructor, and she gave me a cd of various salsa, cha-cha, meringue and bachata music.  Rachelo, I should send them to you...

I think Josh is going to sign me up for a cake-decorating class for a Christmas present.  I'm super excited!!!  Parkland College offers all kinds of neat artsy classes that anyone can take, which I think is fantastic.  I mean, I guess most colleges do, but I've never really taken advantage of community education programs before taking my salsa class.  So it feels like I've just discovered this whole slew of fun / educational opportunities.  I might try to take a class every semester, whether it's Chinese calligraphy or Japanese flower-arranging, or Salsa or whatever.  It's cool to learn fun new things.

I was playing a bunch of Fallout 3 recently, but then this week we got Left 4 Dead.  It's awesome.  I am pretty incapable of playing without screaming a lot, but my friends seem to enjoy when I do, so I guess everyone wins.  ;)  It's competitive co-op, so I don't stack up well when compared to the other players, but I generally seem to lead the pack on "most head-shots" for some reason.  Which makes me kind of proud.  Sort of hilarious - my cataplexy tends to kick in when playing, so that when I try to like, stand up after we're done playing or something, my legs totally wobble and I can't walk.  Which makes me concerned for when the zompocalypse really comes.  I suspect that, when it does, I'm pretty much a goner.

So, that's it, really.  I've been having fun, and get together with friends for shenanigans and crazy hijinks whenever possible (by which I mean, gaming - either the video, board or larping variety).  I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving, for the annual trip up to Minneapolis to visit Josh's parents.  It should, as always, be a lovely time.

good things, notes on day to day life
