Olympics

Man do I love watching the Olympics. I've been sleeping so much less since last saturday. so basically any moment that I am home and they are on, the tv is on channel 5 and I am glued to it. Even if I haven't a clue what is going on in the sport (which is pretty much every sport in the winter games). So they are on from 6-about 10pm every night, then there's the news and leno, and THEN the network replays that night's airing at around 12. SO I've been going to bed around 4am this week because I can't tear myself from the screen, even if I saw the ENTIRE first showing...I even know what the commentators are going to say next sometimes...yeah. And basically on every commercial I rush to the computer and go the nbc olympics webpage and read and reread athlete bios etc. a loser am I. The sports that I absolutely can't miss right now are figure skating and speed skating. Like I was so nervous watching the men's figure skating tonight, I was so sad when Johnny Weir messed up, but them that groovy canadian dude jeffrey butle came back and got the bronze and he had been crying after his first skate cuz he thought he had botched it, and before that evan lysocheck skated just amazing after a bad first day...I could go on and on. oh yeah, and I think the worst part about watching the games is seeing someone mess up, like an athlete that's been working towards the olympics all their life. Especially in figure skating. When they fall, it's just painful to watch. I feel so bad that their nerves got the best of them. and pairs skating is amazing as well. Bradley and I were talking about all the crazy lifts they were doing and we even got some ideas for a dance from the skaters. and that one chinese pair that came back from a crazy crazy fall to take silver...I remember back in 04 when there was a swimmer from some remote non-swimming country that had hardly trained cuz they had no facility, and he came and did like the 100free and finished long after the others in the first round. and everyone was giving him a standing ovation by the end. These are the moments that really get me. I actually get choked up at times! man, I am obsessed. My new dream is to attend the Olympics, any sport, summer or winter, and watch an event. How awesome would that be. Alright, I am done and need to go get a life. I'll be back from Walmart in 20 minutes, I hear they have to sell everything before the move so there should be a good deal on a life!!
