(no subject)
hey guys, for those of you that dont have a myspace, or that didnt see my post... due to the incredible amount of ran last night... my back yard flooded. there is a creek at the very edge of my back yard, that flooded, sending water rushing down stream and into my yard up to my house. luckily my basement didnt get too wet. there was atleast a foot of water outside the basement door. i went out this morning to take pictures because alot of the ones last night didnt turn out. what i saw this morning was unbeleiveable. the quick moving water erroded the bank into my yard an extra fifteen feet from where it was originally. here are some of the pictures.
Here is my house, with the yard full of rocks from the water
The water took away so much earth that it unearthed these roots.

A nice random tree laying in my yard with a giant puddle
the creek.. or should i say river with fallen trees
if you look in the bottom left corner you can see where a part of the newly created bank is about to break away from the yard with the trees attatched to it. ps. that used to be in my yard, atleast 7 feet from the bank.
those rocks never used to be there. the new creek with its fast moving water
that tree out there in the water.. there used to be 3 feet separating it from the bank and the water. at the bottom of the picture is the new bank.
here is a nice boulder that landed next to my trampoline. last night the water was up to the blue part of it..
i know its hard to see but that is my basement door with plywood and cinder blocks to keep it from breaking, before the water got up to the top of the cinderblocks.
