Dang, livejournal's looking a lot snazzier. I'll have to post more often.
I'm back at UCU now, and it feels like I never really left. Its funny how a lot of friendships can pick right back up where they left off, even if they were kind of put on hold for a few months. I'm in a room called Closet now, and even if it's smallish I like it. All the old guys are moved in and the newbies are coming around tomorrow, so we'll have Initiation and all those fun UCU traditions.
I really hate random eye contact with strangers. My desk is next to a window that looks right into the window on the staircase of the girl's house. I just randomly made eye contact with a new girl going up the stairs, someone I don't even know yet. How awkward. I'll have to make a big sign to block our window when we don't want the girls seeing in. Something that says "I'M NAKED" in big bold letters, is what I'm thinking.
The past couple of days I've watched the first 7 episodes of "Band of Brothers" with some friends. My admiration for that generation of people will never die. I couldn't help but imagine if we all lived around WWII era times, because at my age we'd all be fighting. 19, 20 year olds were out in Europe and the Pacific seeing combat. It's hard not to feel incredibly selfish in light of the way that I complain about "hardships" and "struggles" that are in reality very minor and hardly worth mentioning. All things considered I'd rather be pulling out my hair over college expenses than ducking Nazi bullets in my own personal foxhole.
