I should be writing about the little awesome bits of life. How I went to the dentist on my lunch break and was told my teeth look fabulous. How the VP of my company suggested a "Hurricane Party" and provided tubs of JP Licks ice cream and toppings. I should be telling you that yesterday was Fiona's last day and we covered her desk with cookies, candy, and streamers. (She's going back to Ireland on Sunday. Or was supposed to anyway. But Hurricane Irene...)
I should probably say something about last night when about 5 of my guy friends and I went to a few bars. Want to hear how delicious my third frozen margarita was? Care to hear why I ended up with a white paper hat that said "COMING TO A POLE NEAR YOU?"
Instead I am going to complain about how I feel so unloved/uncared for/boohoo. Nobody will go to nerdy events with me.
Three mind-numbingly awesome nerdfests are happening in NYC in October.
① Oct. 9 ~ FREE KBS kpop concert!!! Some of the biggest names in kpop that NEVER come to the states!!! Yet they are!! FOR FREE. /fangasm
② Oct. 14-16 Comic Con! Huge collection of video game, comics, manga, anime, and movie goodness! I have been working on a last minute Kairi (KH2) costume!
③ (rumored Oct. 22) SMTown NYC - sounds weird but it's a huge concert by the biggest kpop entertainment company in S. Korea - SM Entertainment. Sounds dirty huh? I have seen fancams of these concerts in other countries and... it just may be the greatest thing ever. If you are into hot Koreans, kpop music, crossdressing idols, and screaming fangirls. And I happen to be a crazy stan.
It just frustrates me nobody will go with me to these nerdfests. I even offered to pay for EVERYTHING and Liz said no ("Isn't there a concert in Boston? NYC is too far,") and Kevin won't give a definite answer. It makes me feel so lonely that they don't share my interests. I would go to a concert I don't care about if they asked me to! So why won't they do the same for me? I buy bus tickets, drive all night, or walk in sketched-out alleys to see my friends. Why don't they ever road trip up to see me?
I did make that one nerdy friend but I baked her a cookie and wrote "sorry" on it and said I'm giving up the apartment hunt. She got a place in Chinatown and asked if I wanted to live in her kitchen (HER EXACT WORDS LOL) but I finally refused. The only problem is she is going to Comic Con with some other people and is entering the cosplay competition. Yeah she is awesome and hardcore... and doing things I can't tag along with.
So frustrated. Ugh. If only I had a stupid boyfriend to drag around. Yay for being a love pariah :/
