After Halloween, when the stores are having their discount candy blowouts, you can always count on there being candy corn. ALWAYS.
Why do they make so much of it? Why do stores buy so much, knowing that 90% of it will be festering on the shelf alongside the newly-stocked Christmas crap? (Or not-so-newly-stocked, as it seems to keep creeping up.)
I was gonna say how we’re fortunate that it’s a once-a-year thing that they haven’t tried transplanting into other holidays (like Cadbury “Screme Eggs” or Christmas Peeps)…but no, I went and looked. There’s
Cupid Corn (more like stupid corn),
Reindeer Corn and
Bunny Corn (which really should be brown, but isn’t).
Oh, and back to Halloween, I see there’s even
Scripture Candy Corn. Yeah, that won’t result in your house getting TP’d or anything.
