More Diner food in Bend

Ordered: Salad, open faced turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes, chocolate cake

After another night of heavy drinking, we ended up going to a different diner for breakfast/brunch. The best thing about diners is that they always give you more food than you can handle, and usually at a very low price too.

Since I’m more of a lunch person than a breakfast person, I ordered the open faced turkey sandwich. Hot sandwiches are great - especially those smothered in gravy. Whomever came up with the concept of gravy should be given an award. With a heaping pile of mashed potatoes, a salad to start and then chocolate cake to finish, suffice it to say that I had a great hangover breakfast. Diner food is love… comfort food if you will. Nothing better than comfort food when you’re feeling off.

However, their turkey was a little dry, and they didn’t give me as much gravy as I might have liked. The biscuit that came with the meal was dry - and since I ran out of milk, it made it difficult to eat much of it. The waitress had a heck of a time, since we were a party of about 10. And half of us were playing our newly purchased PSPs against each other.

Still, it hit the spot. Most food tastes really good when you’re hungover.
