In retrospect, 2006 wasn't too great. At the end of it, I find myself heavily in debt in a city I don't like, making hardly any money doing something for which I'm terribly overqualified, and without any decent invitations to get crunked up and ring in the hopefully more benevolent new year.
On the other hand, I cultivated some rewarding friendships, earned an impressive degree, made giant steps toward independence and self-sustenance, tested my self-control, learned many a wisening lesson and removed most of the clouds from my vision of the future.
Meh. I think 2006 was a year of mistakes. I hope, though, that the next will be a year of remedies.
