This year, instead of buying all my friends gifts, I made them Christmas dinner. And since I managed to get my hands on a turducken roll for a good price (thank you, o humble local butcher shop), I thought, hey- Cajun Christmas!
So here it is. Clockwise from top: stuffed mirliton, cornbread dressing with the best turducken gravy ever, crab-stuffed twice-baked potato, turducken, and in the center, maque choux. And dessert- that would be that Mississippi mud pie right there in the other pan.
Except for the turducken and the pie shell for the pie, everything else was homemade. Took me over six hours of slaving away in the kitchen, but the maque choux and mirliton boats especially were a big hit :)
