Back in Annecy

Chanterelles at the Sunday Market in Annecy,France. They are 30 € a kilo, which is approx. $19 a pound. Right now back in Oregon you can walk into the forest and pick them by the bag full.

That isn't too far off what I have seen them sold for here in CT(Only crimini's are cheap). If in France they were fresh I'd go for it since mushrooms don't weigh much you can a lot for that price.

After years of living here, I finally realized that I have a bunch of them growing in my back yard. I live on a farm on 66 acres and most of the land is second growth forest and for the first time in my life, have tasted them. I have been eating LOTS of chantrelles for weeks now.
