Those look incredible! Are they soft-chewy or crisp? I'm hunting for a recipe that produces crisp cookies rather than the soft kind.

They're so yummy. The chopped chocolate bits melt in your mouth! They start out soft but if you add a few minutes to the cooking time they'll be nice and crisp.

Also, using all butter might make them a bit more firm. Shortening produces a softer product, from what I understand.

I'm studying abroad and my friend and I are going to make "traditional" American chocolate chip cookies (although I haven't been able to find chocolate chips here, so we'll just use chopped up chocolate.) I think I'll use this recipe! Thanks!
