So it's 130 in the morning and I had to skip dinner earlier. Out in the garden thanks to the florida weather being so nice I had a good harvest of brussell sprouties!
Took a pound of sprouts, cleaned them and sat them into a bowl of cold lightly salted water. Browned 6 ounces of diced bacon and leaving the grease in the pan, added a diced yellow onion and a minced shallot. Got those growing in my garden as well. :)
Let those buggers caramalize!
Shake the excess water off the sprouts and dumped em into the pan and added a splash of white wine to deglaze. After the steam clears, added a cup of water and then turned the heat up a bit to steam off the water, which makes the kitchen reek of goodness. :D
While all this is going on inside, outside I've got some flank steaks burnign on my grill under the light of the full moon. :) It's moon meat!
