Vanilla / chocolate fudge cupcakes with coloured english peppermint buttercream frosting. I love how the pastel lavender and white colours contrast against the hues ( Read more... )

lots of cultures have engagement ceremonies followed by big food gatherings. heck, if I ever decide to get married, there's a whole elaborate tea ceremony that's supposed to happen in my family before we pig out.

I don't actually have any recipes since I've never endeavored to make it... but isn't baking the usual method for making cheesecake?

No bake isn't cheesecake. ;) *snob*

But yeah, I wasn't even thinking of that. I was trying to figure out.. "Fried? Stove top? I DON'T UNDERSTAND!"

I have a great recipe that I discovered from Allrecipes:

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chantals-New-York-Cheesecake/Detail.aspx

I would suggest you bake it in a waterbath, but I have made this twice and once it was perfect and the second time my 'waterbath' seeped in, making the crust watery. So I think getting a pan of hot water and putting that on the shelf below the cheesecake would work better.

I have used fat free sour cream and 2 things of fat free cream cheese, two regular. Another time I used all fat everything. haha They were both great in my opinion.

And use 3 T of butter on the crust too - it sticks together better. I also made a little more crust the second time so that I could get it on the sides better.

I topped it with the Supreme Strawberry Topping on the site and some homemade whipped cream. But it was good with or without the topping.Reply

p.s. Whatever you do, once you start the oven for the cheesecake DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR! haha I don't know how much you know about cheesecake baking, but you leave it closed, turn off the heat and ignore it for at least a few hours. Baking it in a waterbath and leaving the door closed will keep it from cracking/sinking.

... I mean turn off the heat after an hour ...

Good luck.

I wish you could correct your comments.
