Poached Figs

Jun 15, 2007 07:23

I had figs and no clue what to do with them, so I read some recipes and then did what I could with what I had on hand.

I poached the figs in cranberry juice with whole cloves, nutmeg, some white wine, dried cranberries and raisins...until a little soft, but not mushy. Removed the figs and all the chunky bits (cloves, cranberries, etc) and added a little honey and a little brown sugar and boiled for a bit. Then I threw it all into a dish, added some walnuts and baked it until it got bubbly.

Tastes best after it's been in the fridge for a few hours.

PS: apologies for the blank photo in the previous post - wasn't sure what had happened so I deleted it and I'll try reposting again later. :)
