ground beef

Dec 19, 2006 16:22

I bought some ground beef on Saturday, and was just going through the fridge this afternoon when I noticed that the best before date was yesterday. Should I just toss it, or can I freeze it immediately for cooking later (immediately after it thaws)?

It's not a large amount, I just don't like to waste food.

It's a "Best Before" date.

You haven't reached the "Not so Bad Before" date.

Don't wait until the "OMFG, you should've used it Before" date.

I wouldn't freeze it; I'd just cook it. If it's still in it's sealed package it'll be fine.

Just cook it.
The package usually indicates sell by date, besides, they always take a few days precausion.

Cook it and then freeze what you've made if you don't want to eat it now.

If you COOK it now, you can buy another couple of days, but I wouldn't recommend beginning the freezing process now.
