I have had a head of cabbage sitting around, wondering what to do with itself. Today, it found out. I browned some sirloin pork chops in a heavy skillet (in bacon grease), shredded the cabbage, and chopped up four apples. I layered the chops with the cabbage and apples, sprinkled a handful of caraway on the top, and added a small can of chicken stock and a half-cup of cranberry apple juice. It's now simmering on the stove for dinner tonight, and from the smell ... I can't wait.
