a couple of weeks ago, I made dinner for myself and my boy...
First we started off with salad:
Rocket and spinach, tomatoes, carrots, olives (his fave), nuts, minced garlic, turkey, cheese (harvarti - yum), pepper, and lemon juice. Quite nice and fresh, with all sorts of textures and flavours.
Then came his favourite - gnocchi. I had cheated a bit and bought prepared gnocchi - I didn't have the time to make them from scratch. The rest was originally me though:
Secret ingredient? Lemon pepper. With the lemons, they made the mushrooms especially delicious. There's a recipe
here if you want one. (We almost polished off the plate when this photo was taken!)
And then we ended it off with banana splits - a treat, considering bananas are super pricey over here now:
Vanilla icecream, with our choice of dessicated coconut, lollies/candy, coloured sprinkles, and honey. He went for the coconut and lollies; I had everything except the lollies.
Great way to spend a 2-month anniversary, and a good break from college food! (I got a lot of "ooooh how romantic!!" comments from my housemates, lol)
