Cookbook in the finals!
This is the last time I'll be posting about this because hopefully Cookbook will win!
I posted a two weeks ago about an online competition called My Dream App in which people propose ideas for their "dream computer application." The final winners get to see their DreamApp actually get created by a team of wellknown software developers.
Well, the reason I'm posting here is because one of the finalists is an idea called "Cookbook." The guy who has proposed this idea has really good graphic design skills and some interesting ideas for making this useful and usable; check out this website mockup.
His idea includes a meal planner (as easy as taking a recipe from your set of recipes, dragging it over to the days you wish to make it on) and smart grocery lists (Cookbook would tally up all the items you would need to purchase from the supermarket and automatically create a shopping list for the week which you can then print out and take with you to the store).
So, if you are interested in seeing this DreamApp become reality, VOTE!!! The final round of voting is happening *now* and I'm afraid Cookbook might lose out because some of the other applications are getting a lot of press on the computer-geek circuit.
