Plums

I have 2 plum trees in my backyard loaded with fruit. This is our first year with plums and they are ready for picking now. I'm not sure what kind they are as we didn't plant them. They are small, maybe 2 inches tall, golden yellow with red patches (the ones directly in the sun have more red on them), and they are sweet.

I will be giving some away, and with the rest I'd like to make jams, cakes, and freeze some. I've already made a Plum Upside-Down Cake (pictured under the cut), but I would love suggestions for other desserts. Desserts that freeze well would be great because it's just my husband and I. I do have a preserve cookbook that I'll be going through for a jam recipe, but if anyone has a tried and true recipe for plum jam they'd like to share I'd be grateful for it. I'm thinking of making a plum loaf (kind of like a banana bread), but I don't have a recipe. Has anybody made anything like that before or have any ideas on how I could convert a different sweet bread into a plum loaf?

As you can see from the pictures, there are tonnes of plums, so I don't want to go out and buy other fruits to mix with them. I just want to make straight up plum foods to use them up. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

This is my Plum Upside-Down Cake. Sorry the picture isn't very artistic.
I just snapped a shot of it as it sat under plastic wrap.
