Barbeque Dry Rub

Jun 27, 2006 16:38

Now that summer is here I've been doing Baby Back Ribs quite often. I'm looking for a good dry rub and some advice.
Most of the rubs I've found online are too hot. I'm looking for something with heat but not hot. Also they tend to be too salty. Does anyone have
a good dry rub mix they'd like to share? And do you do it the night before, then cook. Just for ha ha's here's what I'm doing now:

rub

brown sugar
kosher salt
paprika
onion powder
garlic powder
some cayenne powder
thyme
dry mustard
cumin

wash/dry ribs
remove membrane
cover with dry rub
wrap in foil and refrigerate
next day cook 250 degrees for an hour
flip and cook another hour
open foil and baste with barbeque sauce cook 15 min
flip and repeat last step.

They come out great but the rub is wrong

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks dmb
