Sunday Lunches

I was having a discussion with a friend the other day about the concept of fast food--and how good food doesn't take much longer to make than it would take for you to hop in your car and go pick something up once you get the hang of cooking. I'm slightly odd and love my beets cooked and then refrigerated, then I just eat them sliced and cold. Mind you, I also like my oatmeal and corn on the cob cold.

I love cold oatmeal. I make up a batch of the steel cut oat kind with buttermilk, then refreigerate it before eating. It's delish that way. The beets above weren't hot, just room temperature.

Yeah, I cook a pot of steel cut oats and put it in the fridge too!

I like beets hot as well, but I love them cold ;)

I eat mine without butter when it's cold. I just eat it plain, but if I eat it hot I love it with butter and salt!

I'll eat corn pretty much any way, including almost raw and cold from the can. I'm a corn fanatic!
