You might try checking some lj comms around here for some ideas. vegetarian, veganism, veggie_recipies and vegan_cooking might all help you grab some ideas.

For some terminology to help your search, you might try checking out things like vegan diets and pescetarian diets, and see how you can modify those to fit your characters (also, not sure if it's a typo/regional thing, but spelling it "vegetarian" might help with search hits). It sounds like the character is a pescetarian with some vegan tendencies, but I can't know for sure.

Some questions that might help me to answer your post:

- What's "the like," when it comes to foods that your character avoids?
- Where is the character located? Winter fruits will differ depending on location -- as will typical foods for meals/snacks.
- How long has the person been a pesco/veg*n? Beginner foods tend to differ from what someone who has been eating this way for a long time will make.
- What do their finances look like (are they a high schooler, college student, buisness man, etc)?
- Do they enjoy cooking, or do they want something quick and easy?

Remember that pesco/veg*ns are an expansive and diverse group of people, without very much in common (other than a dietary choice). So anything you can tell us about yor character to help us narrow down some options would be great.

Thank you very much for the tips.

My character,(I havent found the perfect name for him yet so i reffer to him as he for now) is about 19 is finishing his last year of highscool and is preparing to go to a university in new york. he isn't fond of fast food but doesn't really enjoy cooking. he doesn't like the taste or texture of meat so he avoids it and has a weird obsession with chicken collectables.

As a vegan myself, I can say that one of the big things for your character would be label-watching. Most baked goods are made with eggs, so if he has a big aversion to it, he'll probably eat specialty breads/cereals/cakes/cookies/etc. Baked goods are probably my biggest issue when it comes to personally not eating eggs, though if I had an oven it wouldn't be too big of a deal (there are egg replacements that can go into baked goods without any extra effort).

Granola cereals tend to avoid eggs, as do potato breads. Wheat waffles have a tendency to not have eggs (it'd be believable), but you can find a lot of the same products that egg-eaters enjoy if the character has access to the internet/health food stores. There are plenty of egg-free granola bars, muffins, and other 'to-go' foods.

I'm a big fan of tofu with meals, though I also love beans (black beans ftw). I also enjoy spaghetti with wheat pastas (quinoa pastas also don't have eggs). Skillets are a great option -- you can toss whatever you have in the fridge into a pan and call it good. There are lots of veggie-dog options, too -- veggie burgers, veggie hot dogs, veggie 'meat' crumbles, veggie sausages. There are several companies who make tv dinners for veggies/vegans, which include things like burritos, lasagna, etc.

Oranges are pretty popular in winter where I live (MI), but that'll depend on why you ask. Do you want your character to find local foods (cause in NY in winter, that'll be nearly impossible), or do you just want something 'seasonal'? Pomegranates are pretty winter-oriented, as are figs.
