So, what's in New York City?
'Ello! First time poster and I found this through that featured thingy-ma-jig. Those can give you some GREAT communities, I must say. D: Anywho~ The name's Rena and I have a pair of questions!
1. My story partially takes place in New York City, in the year 2013 with teenagers at a public school. One of the main characters likes corn dogs a lot, but now that I think about it, it kinda feels like that doesn't fit with the setting. [though he'll still eat them, even if people from new york don't normally eat corn dogs] The setting is rather modern, there's not much different between what sort of things there are in that time period. So, my question is: what kinds of foods would you normally see people eating in New York City? Specificially in Manhattan and/or Brooklyn.
2. This one's not nearly as important, BUT I'M GOING TO ASK! Same story, but there's another world that is more magic-related than urban-ized. In things with magic, are there any specific sorts of foods that people would eat? If you're curious, the world is reminiscent of the medival ages, but is controlled by a Chinese-esque government, so it would probably have be effected by both things. The world is also an exact opposite of Earth, so the different countries are there. I can't think of how to explain it otherwise. 8D; This might be a tough question, due to different cultures, so if it can't be answered like that, then don't worry about answering; I don't mind!
