Stuffs

More rain and thunder and lightning.  It's kinda nice to be sitting here in the relative chill, wearing a sweater that was too big for me a year and 80lbs ago.  It's a hot chocolate kind of day, and I think I may take it up on that offer.

I haven't posted much, but not for lack of doing things.  I watched an airshow, socialised a whole lot, and saw Cirque du Soleil.  Fun, good stuff all around, which I am grateful for.  I also realise I don't thank people enough and suspect I need to weigh my sarcastic sense of humour with actual compliments and positive words from time to time.

Speaking of words, a meme courtesy of druidesskat .  If you'd like to play, reply to this meme by yelling "Words!", and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your journal, and explain what they mean to you.

I yelled, here're my words:

Browncoat  I could get kinda metaphysical and say that a browncoat is a way of life or somesuch.  Instead, I'll just say that the browncoats that I know have turned out to be a pretty spectacular bunch that, for whatever reason, seem to go against the trend of all humans being morons.

Hair  Aah, my nemesis, we meet again!  I used to have a lot of it, when I was younger.  Eventually it retreated its way up my forehead and I decided that rather than look like a total fool, I'd cut it and donate it to Locks for Love.  They took off 23 inches, and I've kept it short since, to try to disguise the growing bald spot :-)

Monkey-hanger  I suppose this is as close to a pet name as kat has for me!  It stems from a piece of history from my home town when, during the Napoleonic wars, a French ship was wrecked at sea and the sole survivor -- the ship's monkey -- was washed ashore.  The poor monkey was hung as a French spy.  There are probably more embarrassing things to be famous for, I'm not sure if I can think of any offhand, though.

Computer  An important element of my life for years.  It's been a way to bond with friends, pass free time, become enraged, learn, meet strangers across the world, and form the centre of my career.  I love you, you temperamental lump of electronics!

England  My home.  I miss it and all its quirks.
