Young students show how they practice songs for the town's upcoming Christmas festival on December 23rd. The photo was taken outside due to the poor lighting inside the building.
The children's clothes tell the story of poverty, they are from primarily working class families.
Southern Missouri where the school was situated was a low-income area in 1908. Lumber was it's primary resource.
