While there's a lot to catch everyone up on, it's nothing that's so out of the ordinary that it begged posting any time in the last couple weeks. Clearly (as Didi and Charnesky and assorted generic SCTownies would have me say).
I've been spending free weekend time wandering the park behind my house. When you walk the full trail you probably get about two miles worth of hiking all the way around, which I like to do one and a half times. It's teeming with wildlife and the sound of paws, claws and wings is everywhere. On hot days the wind makes the whole place smell like sun and wildflowers. On wet days it has that perfect green smell. The front half of the park is wetland fields and the back half is the forest along the Potomac. LOVE it.
Stephanie came to visit last weekend and it was an absolute blast. Kept things in on Friday night then spent Saturday touring monuments and exhibits and a walk through Chinatown. Attended a wonderful party hosted by
gnikylime that night, which I'm not sure I properly thanked her for. She picked Stephanie and I up from the Greenbelt metro just as a big, pretty storm was coming on. Then Jim ran us back to the CP Metro after we'd all had a few to drink (except the driver, duh!)
So now I'm on my way back to Texas. I'm pretty booked through Sunday afternoon, but I'm in town until Thursday the 10th. Will be at Constantin this weekend for awesome 4th of July celebrations.
