All right Naruto fandom, lets have a little chat about Gaara.
First off his height. Gaara is short. This is what happens when you don't sleep your whole life, you don't grow properly. Now in a AU setting I can understand sort of if Gaara ends up say 6' (but thats pushing it if he'd ever get that tall, especially if persist in having not sleep or having a sleeping difficulty) (and fyi, techincally, for the average day to day not demon possessed with super healing powers you eventually die from lack of sleep, and untill such time your are severly weakened). I know it doesnt fit into your girlish fantasies that your beloved woobie is not SUPER TALLZ!!~!!!1 But unless under circumstance in which Gaara is a balanced human being and sleeps properly, he's not going to be. I wouldn't mind it if it was just once in awhile, but its every. damn. fic.
Second, his personality. I'm sorry, despite being fucking insane for the first part of the series, I seriously doubt that he would try to drug Sakura's drink to sleep with her. Others may agree with me when Gaara's style would be way less subtle (I'm thinking more smash her across the head and drag her back by her hair. That would be more in character then drug - rape).
Nor do I think he really would be a ladies man. I have serious trouble with that mental image. Gaara, charming? You just broke my brain. He is way too socially inept in that sense, not to mention lacking in patience to charm people.
Lastly, Gaara respects Naruto. Really and truly cares for him as his friend. I'd like to think he'd matured enough in pt.2 that if Sakura had left Gaara for Naruto, he would take it like a man, not try to kill her, even if it was just because Naruto loves her and he cares for Naruto.
