Hello. I go along with binkie. If the DVDs play on your player, that shows the burner did its job and your player is doing its job. Then you get into situations like dirty optical heads, dust and smoke are the usual problem. There's also firmware problems with some standalone players using different media. So you get into player compatibility issues. For better overall compatibility use media manufactured by the better manufacturers. MCC, TY, and Ricohjpn are 3 of the tops that manufacture for top brands, including Verbatim. Taiyo Yuden (TY) makes the Japanese Sony +R. I've had good results with the Taiwanese +R Sony as well (Sony is the manufacturer, or at least that's the code). Use DVD Identifier to see what is being used.Be sure to follow Binkie's advice and make sure the firmware for the burner is up to date and set the booktype to DVD ROM if your burner has the capability.
