As some may know, my mother was brought to the emergency room last Friday night with stroke symptoms. She was transferred from our local hospital to Albany Medical Center's NICU (Neurological Intensive Care Unit). After her second Ct scan, she was diagnosed with a massive cerebral bleed and put on some medications to reduce the swelling in the brain. This was done with an eye to performing surgery once she had stabilized. Unfortunately, she suffered between a dozen and two dozenhemorrhagic ministrokes on Sunday afternoon. Supportive care did not aid her condition and she suffered another major bleed in the other hemisphere on Thursday morning. This morning, after consultation with her neurologist, we elected to remove her supportive care. A few hours later, Bobbee succumbed to her illness and passed away quietly. Her family surrounded her and she will be greatly missed.
I'm not sure if this is a proper forum to announce something like this, but it seems to be the best method for me to contact folks that I don't have much voice or RT contact with. I apologise if I've committed any TMI penalties for anyone.
