"You think you're cute, whoever you are."
The two girls are of roughly the same height. If Eden's a little taller, it's down to choice of footwear; in flat shoes, Laura would be the taller. Eden is the older of the two and looks it, just a little bit more worn at the edges than Laura is. She's been through a lot more than Laura has and it shows on her, just a little bit. Laura's fresh out of high school - more than that, she never actually graduated. They may be nearly identical, but there are a number of little clues as to who's who and Laura's really the prettier of the two, if you've got them side by side. She's eighteen years old and she looks it, whereas Eden could pass for a few years older than her 21 years. Laura's had an easy life, rich and spoiled; she drinks, she smokes, but she's never had to work a day in her life. The blood on her hands doesn't bother her the way Eden is haunted by the deaths she believes she's caused. (Eden looked a lot like Laura only a year ago, back in L.A., living the same careless, dangerous life and not caring what she did to anyone. A lot's changed and she was never what Laura is; she only pretended she wasn't bothered.)
Laura's hair is longer by a few inches, long enough that, if she wants, she can pull in back into a small ponytail or pin it up out of her way; it falls in loose, thin strands down the back of her neck, but it doesn't go past her shoulders. She has bangs, which she either pins up on top or sweeps to the side. Eden's is cropped close and hasn't grown that much during her three months on the island. Whereas Eden is wide-eyed and frequently smiling, Laura is not, her eyes more narrowed than not, her expression serious.
Laura favors hats whereas Eden prefers headbands. Eden likes pants and fitted jeans, but Laura wears skirts, both long and short, and dresses. Both like their sleeves long, but Eden used to wear hoodies and Laura went for long, stylized coats, the kind that made her look like some flashback to a starlet in the heyday of Hollywood. All in all, Laura is the more glamourous of the pair. Eden's never exactly badly dressed, but there's rarely anything impressive about her wardrobe. Laura's got fashion sense like nobody's business and she picks and chooses her pieces with infinite care. She's always had the money to do it. Both like to wear high heels, although Laura's more given to boots than Eden is and generally wears her heels a little shorter. Furthermore, where Eden has a tattoo on her foot, Laura has no tattoos at all.
Where Eden's expression is lively, active, Laura's is generally impassive and unimpressed, heavy with the boredom typical of her particular breed of California girl. Both are capable of showing great emotion with subtle shifts in expression, Laura moreso than Eden. However, the majority of the time, Laura is a blank, playing her cards close to her chest, difficult to read; Eden's much easier to read and gives herself away even when she doesn't mean to. Eden's body language is much more open, both in terms of what it gives away and what she does with her limbs; she gesticulates frequently and rarely stops moving, even if it's just tapping her fingers on a nearby piece of furniture or swinging her arms. Laura is much more contained - not apathetic, but conserving a great deal of energy. She manages to appear at once languid and as if she is just on the edge of a sudden burst of movement. On the whole, Laura is more guarded, a little more tightly wound, a lot more cautious. A casual glance doesn't reveal that, because she's good at being guarded, a pro at hiding everything and simply looking carefully careless, but you'll still get a lot less out of Laura just by looking at her than you will from Eden.
