I just came home from the first day of a workshop that's required for my major. The workshop is everyday this week from 9:00 - 5:30, and it's supposed to be an introduction to C++ programming.
Apparently, there were too many courses that QF majors had to take, so they decided to pass some of them off as week-long "workshops". I say "workshops" because they cram practically an entire semester's worth of material into one week.
And yes, it's crazy. I just finished a fifth of a semester for one class (about 3 weeks) today.
edit 1:20 AM: Kev and I just "finished" the project for today. We've been working on it since about 7 this evening. I say "finished" because it's not really done; we just gave up on it.
And the project didn't even involve any coding from scratch. We were given a finished program and asked to improve the code.
Ugh. This is impossible. There will be one project for every day this week too. They'll probably only get harder.
