She made it through watching “Say OK” for the hundredth time, the images and words burning in her mind, her resolve only strengthened with each viewing of the video that possessed her TV screen.

this bit was kind heart breaking .... poor nikki watching Zac paraded like that .... just an accessory :(

“I’ve been a jackass, Nik. An all-around jackass.” This got her attention. “I know I said one minute, but, can I come in? I’ll keep my distance, I promise.” She paused reflectively for a brief moment then pulled the door open wide and stepped back.

IA Zac = massive Jackass .... who doesn't pick Nikki over V .... only a big massive dumbass fool

She shook her head, and walked towards the bed. Their arms grazed as they passed each other, both startled by the palpable electricity between them. Nikki took a deep breath as she focused her eyes on the edge of the bed, and moved to sit down. Zac ran his fingers through his hair and gripped the back of his neck before taking a seat in the armchair.

Summer is on its way, and I'll have a lot of time. Big goal: finish the series over summer vacation! I estimate about 7 more chapters, so I guess we're around half way through. Lots to come!

Aww Thanks, Becca. I saw that you just read ch. 6, so I'm glad that you were able to read this chapter so soon after. The last chapter was them at their lowest point, and here, they are starting to build back up again.

ADORE! LOVE! WONDERFUL!

I just love how complicated it all is. How it's so NOT easy. (Even when it is.)

I love that they hurt each other. That he's an asshole. That's she's human and fearful and confident.

I love that he loves her anyway.

That she loves him anyway.

But that it changes nothing.

At least not now.

They love each other anyway. It isn't easy, and they don't have any answers. They just have to be, now.

I guess my first instinct would be to try and stop being his friend, even if she knows thats not possible but I am surprised she didn't at least try. But then again they have all of that promotion to consider and she really has no choice but to be around him....even if this didn't have anything to do with her choiciing to be his friend still

I don't think she wouldn't want him in her life, no matter how much he has hurt her. She knows that he wasn't hurting her to be cruel. She also has guilt for cheating with him. She's trying to come to terms with what they can be together, and having him in her life as her friend, no matter how much love there is, is better than not at all.
