"Cordelia?" she called out, alone in the motel parking lot. She felt silly. She was standing alone yelling into the sky. But, the minute Dean had mentioned her name, Buffy knew that somehow, their lives - or her afterlife and her life were now intertwining. "Cordelia!"

"Buffy?"
Buffy wasn't a charge in any sense of the word, but she did want to look over the people from her previous life. It still didn't explain how Buffy knew how to call for her, though, which meant that something was up. Sam was giving her a quizzical look, and she glanced to him, before holding up a finger in front of her.
"Hold that thought."
A few minutes later, she was landing as a swirl of glowy orbing lights in front of the Slayer, and giving her a very confused look. "Not to sound unhappy to see you or anything, but how did you get this number?"

It was kind of impressive.
"We have an entire set-up in Cleveland, you think what, we don't know what whitelighters are?" she asked, crossing her arms. But, she had to reel in the bitch. "And nice to see you, too Cordelia." Walking towards her, Buffy continued. "We have a mutual - well, I don't think we can call him an acquaintance --"

"The point, Buffy? I can't leave my charge alone for long."
Nor that Sam would appreciate hearing that, because she was sure he thought he could handle himself, but she wasn't worried about his physical well-being -- just his mental one. Though she would be cloaking him from demonic presences from where she was standing, just for good measure.

It was as straight a point as she could admit to. It seemed weird explaining to Cordelia that Dean had crawled out of his own grave and wandered into a diner her and Xander had been in. Or, perhaps Dean or Bobby were the acquaintance. Either way, anything past Sam Winchester wasn't an issue at this juncture.

"What do you want with Sam? Is the Watcher's Council after him for something?"

"It's not me, Cordelia. Or the Council. It's Dean."

Did she hear her right? She wasn't sure she did. Because she could have sworn she said 'Dean' and Dean was not what she was expecting to come out of Buffy's mouth right then. Dean was dead. Had been for four months. That was why she had landed this gig in the first place.
"Wait, what?"

" ... The fuck?!"
"Oh my God. Literally." Her eyes moved over to the shoulder, seeing the hand print seared into his shoulder, she knew exactly what it was that had done this. "Get dressed."
"First things first -- who the hell are you?"
"I'm Cordelia. Now -- if you don't mind, that's more of you than I really want to see."
" ... Oh."
She then turned to walk towards the door, opening it once Dean at least had his pants on. "Buffy? I need a favor."

"I don't think 'no' is a viable option, not that I need to say no." She was really feeling snippy tonight. "What do you need?" She peeked inside at a shirtless Dean. With pants. Thankfully.

"Just watch them. I have an angel to yell at."
And the next second later, she was gone.

"Sammy?"

"...Dean?" To Buffy, Sam looked like he was frozen in place. His face was a mixture of shock and confusion. But, still, he didn't move in the direction of his brother. She half expected Sam to lunge, to attack as Bobby had done.
