The best Tempura in Hong Kong - Inagiku

I heard that the best Tempura in Hong Kong is served at Inagiku at Royal Garden Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. So I decided to give it a try this afternoon.

The lunch menu is very good. It has lots to choose from - tempura, sushi, udon, soba ... etc. I decided to choose the deluxe tempura rice box set.

I have told them that I wanted to sit at the Tempura counter. My seat was right at the corner but it was a good seat. I got to sit behind the chef so I could see every movement of him making the tempura.

My lunch set contained salad, miso soup, tempura on rice, pickles and fruit. The salad was really fresh. The tempura was great too. It wasn't oily at all. The tempura contained 2 big prawns, pumkin, mushroom, sweet potato, and some battered small prawns. I particularly like the pumkin, even though sweet potato has always been my favourite of all times. By the time I was almost done with the rice, I was really full already ... and most of you should know how much I ate!!! LOTS!!! So the lunch set was very good value and very tasty.

The waiters and waitresses were very attentive. As I wiped my mouth after my meal, a waitress came from nowhere and quickly cleaned up my table. When I asked for more tea, she said she would give me a new cup of hot tea. As soon as she turned away, a waiter appeared in front of me, took my tea away, and gave me a new cup of hot tea! They all looked like G4 with headset to communicate. I guess that's why my tea came so quickly!

When the bill came, I was kind of shocked because it was cheaper than I thought! It seemed like either they gave me the wrong lunch set or they have done their sum wrong! The bill was $154, which was equivalent to the Assorted Tempura Rice Box Set. Since this was my first time, I didn't know if I had a deluxe tempura or just an assorted tempura. Either way, I was really happy with the cost and the quality of the food. I would really recommend this place for those who wanted a good tempura in Hong Kong!
