Prosiect: Ioan Gruffudd
So, the good news is that not only did I watch this evenings interview with Ioan Gruffudd on S4C but I also managed to record a copy of the entire programme. Yay! Bad news is that I am absolutely buggered if I can figure out how to view the subtitles :( The programme is already available to view on S4C's watch again service here (sorry, UK only), and they tweeted to say that English subtitles are available, but I've tried everything and can't find them. I even tried downloading the iPhone app and viewing it on that, but still no luck. I'm wondering if they'll maybe make a subtitled version of the programme available later. If anyone else does manage to view the programme with subtitles, please let me know how you did it and I'll record another copy.
The programme is essentially a long, detailed and, from what I can gather, really quite a personal interview. This article gives an summary of some of the things he talks about. The interview was filmed at Comic Con, in LA and at the golf tournament at Newport, but alas no sign of the Irish team ;)
Hornblower gets several mentions and at one point he tells a story about Hornblower fans, but we'll have to wait either for subtitles or nodbear to tell us what he's saying :} Talking of nodbear, she was also going to try recording the programme, so perhaps she'll have better luck with the subtitles than I did!
Sadly the interview with ioanite doesn't feature, but there is an absolutely lovely shot of her in her naval uniform with her Hornblower books right at the start of the second part of the programme :D
Although the online version of the programme can only be viewed in the UK, there's a rather entertaining clip of him answering a quiz about his own films on youtube. He doesn't to too well naming the Hornblower books in order.... :}
